What to do with the Whites-Material Design?

One of the problems and challenges in Material Design in creating a full color palette is what to do with all those Whites and other light colors that cannot be made into a monochromatic color ramp.  The creative solution would be to use them somewhere else to create some depth where depth was need..yeah I being somewhat cagey..you will see it next week, ie the solution..
